About Me

I am an Astrophysics researcher at the ATA Lab, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, working with Prof. Igor Andreoni. My current research focuses on fast transients such as Gamma-ray Bursts (GRBs) and electromagnetic counterparts of gravitational wave events. I use data from leading observatories, including the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) and the Dark Energy Camera (DECam).

Previously, I was a research assistant at the STAR Lab, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), where I worked with Prof. Varun Bhalerao. I hold a Master’s degree in Physics (Astronomy Minor). My earlier research focused on accretion phenomena in neutron star and black hole X-ray binaries. I used data from observatories such as AstroSat, the Neutron Star Interior Composition Explorer (NICER), and Swift/BAT.

Beyond research, I am actively involved in science communication. I lead a team that organizes asteroid search campaigns—a citizen science initiative under the Society for Space Education Research and Development (SSERD), in collaboration with the International Asteroid Search Campaign (IASC) and NASA.

Outside of science, I am a trained Indian Classical percussionist and vocalist.
